Kootenai Amateur Radio Society (KARS)
is an organization that promotes interest in Amateur Radio communications, advances the radio art, fosters education in the field of electronic communications, and shares knowledge and information about the Amateur Radio Service with the general public.

This web page serves as our online gathering place to share contact information, event listings, and general items of interest to our members.

  • 146.78 MHz - PL: 127.3 Hz In & Out
    Little Blacktail - Analog Only
  • 146.98 MHz - PL: 127.3 Hz In & Out
    Idaho Mica Peak - Analog Only
  • 443.975 MHz + PL: 136.5 Hz In & Out
    Canfield Butte - Analog Only
    (146.78, 146.98, and 443.975 are normally linked together)
  • 443.275 MHz + PL: 136.5 Hz In & Out
    Idaho Mica Peak - Analog & Yaesu Fusion Digital (YSF)
    (Note: Put your analog radio in decode mode to mute data noise)

Affiliated Repeaters - While associated with KARS by virtue of a shared site or links, these repeaters are part of the North Idaho Repeater Group (NIRG) and are not funded by KARS. Learn more about NIRG at their website.

NEW MEETING LOCATION!

KARS club meetings have moved! We no longer meet at the Search and Rescue Building. Our monthly VE Testing and meetings are now going to be held at Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management, 1662 W Wyoming Ave, Hayden ID 83835. Please let everyone know. QSO Coffee and Donuts

Join us for our weekly QSO Coffee and Donuts. It is held every Thursday morning 08:00 - 10:00 at Gross Donuts at 1603 E Seltice Way C, Post Falls in their banquet/meeting room. Doughnuts are on-site, where we'll be safe and warm indoors, with good amateur radio camaraderie. Don't miss it!
