Kootenai Amateur Radio Society (KARS)
is an organization that promotes interest in Amateur Radio communications, advances the radio art, fosters education in the field of electronic communications, and shares knowledge and information about the Amateur Radio Service with the general public.

This web page serves as our online gathering place to share contact information, event listings, and general items of interest to our members.

Repeaters - KARS operates the following repeaters for the use of both members and non-members alike.

  • 146.98 MHz - PL: 127.3 Hz
    Idaho Mica Peak - Analog Only
  • 443.975 MHz + PL: 136.5 Hz
    Canfield Butte - Analog Only
    (146.98 and 443.975 are normally linked together)
  • 443.275 MHz + PL: 136.5 Hz
    Idaho Mica Peak - Analog & Fusion Digital
    (Note: Put your analog radio in decode mode to mute data noise)

KARS 2017 Field Day
That's a wrap on this year's Field Day activity. The bands were not particularly cooperative and we had a pretty light turn-out, but for those that did it was a lot of fun.
